Working Girl Reviews was founded by two multi published and seasoned reviewers. You can read the Willow and Honeybee pages to read more about the owners of this site. Our reviewers live in different areas of the US, are all avid readers and have their own personal likes and dislikes when it comes to books. One difference between us and other review sites is that we will be reading and reviewing older books as well as new releases. Some of these will be books sent to us requesting a review and others will be books we buy. It makes no difference where your books are published. We accept POD, E-books, self published, small and large press books.
Based on your genre and blurb, your book will be given to the person most likely to love it. All reviews will be honest, thoughtful and well written. We don’t skim books. We read them from cover to cover. If a reviewer finds they can’t finish a book or hates it, that book will be passed to another reviewer. Once all of us have a chance to read it and we’re all in agreement, that book will be given a one shoe rating–our worst. We will try to find something positive in to say even in these one shoe reviews. We’re not here to brutalize authors, but to give readers a heads up on the wonderful, and sometimes overlooked, books that we read.
Our rating system has been revised to include the Golden Slipper Award:
Golden Slipper Award: Reserved for the best of the best–those books that blow us away and we feel deserve even more than a five shoe review.
5 shoes: Best Book -
4 shoes: Excellent
3 shoes: Good Read – Minor Issues
2 shoes: Okay Read – But we didn’t love it.
1 shoe: Major issues – Can’t recommend
