Our rating system will range from 1 – 5 shoes with five being our best rating. We have also recently added the Golden Slipper Award, reserved for those books the reviewer feels deserves even more than our Best Book rating. If there is a half shoe added it means the reviewer felt the book falls between the two ratings. For example: a four and a half shoe rating falls between Excellent and Best Book.
Five Shoes/Best Book: This rating will be reserved for those books that the reviewer feels is the best. One we’d proudly display on our coffee table or keep forever on our bookshelf to go back and read time and again.
Four Shoes: Excellent – Well worth the money and highly recommended. There may be something about the story, pacing, or characters we had a minor issue with, but it didn’t detract from our enjoyment of the book.
Three Shoes: Good – We like the story, but have a few minor issues with it.
Two Shoes: Okay – We didn’t love it and found more than a few faults that could have to do with the writing, plot, characterization…ect, but there were things we liked about it.
One Shoe: Not Recommended – This book has major issues. One shoe reviews will be rare and only given to those books we feel never should have been published. This rating will be given only after all reviewers have a chance to read it to ensure it’s not just a personal thing.
